System status
Synthetic checks against this Roy's Tools deployment and the third-party services the hub relies on. Use it to spot auth failures, HTTP 429 rate limits, and upstream 5xx errors — for example when a free API tier is exhausted.
Typical probes include the optional database, ECB-derived FX (Frankfurter), Open-Meteo geocoding and forecast, IANA RDAP bootstrap, ADS-B / adsbdb flight sources, and whether optional AI keys are configured (those keys are not spent on this page).

Snapshot only — this page does not store historical uptime. Public ADS-B v2 hosts document conservative request rates; this endpoint is rate-limited per IP. Weather reverse geocode (Nominatim) is intentionally not probed here.
Direct answer
System status runs synthetic probes, each with about an eight-second timeout, against this deployment and the third-party services the tools use. It is a snapshot, not a stored uptime percentage.
How to use this page
- Reload the page. Each load runs the probes again. Nothing on this page is a historical graph.
- Read a row. A skipped row means an optional key is unset and the related feature degrades in the way that row describes. A failed row means that probe did not get the expected HTTP result.
- Automate. GET /api/ops/status returns the same snapshot as JSON. GET /api/health only checks that the process is up.

Limits
- This is not an SLA. Probes are not stored, so the page cannot show an uptime percent.
- The AirLabs row is skipped, and marked ok, when AIRLABS_API_KEY is unset. Flight Status still uses public ADS-B without AirLabs. Emoji suggestions use the public emoji search.
- Sightengine, Twilio, and Nominatim rows report configuration. They do not spend those APIs on this page.
- The optional database row can be unconfigured. Most tools do not need it.
Is this an SLA dashboard?
No. Each load runs synthetic probes (about eight seconds timeout each). It is a snapshot, not stored history or uptime percentage.
What does /api/health mean versus this page?
/api/health tells you the Next.js process is up (database may be unconfigured). This page probes third-party APIs the tools rely on.
Which dependencies are probed?
The snapshot checks Postgres when configured, Frankfurter, Open-Meteo geocoding, Open-Meteo forecast, IANA RDAP bootstrap, adsbdb, ADS-B v2 on adsb.lol, and the randomapi.dev emoji search. AirLabs is included when its key exists and reported as skipped when it does not. Twilio, Sightengine, and Nominatim are configuration rows and are not called for a live result on this page.
